Ba Be proposed as top eco-tourism site in Vietnam

A conference on the investment and development of Ba be Tourism Site held between the People’s Committee of Bac Kan and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) on June 17th aimed to develop Ba Be National Park into a Top ecological tourism site in Vietnam. The project was approved by the Prime Minister in October 2013.

The Northern mountainous province of Bac Kan is recommended not only to set up different tour types in Ba Be Lake including adventure tours, ecological and spiritual tours, based on its cave and waterfall systems and breathtaking scenery, but also to upgrade transport routes as well as to promote Ba Be’s image to attract investment.

Ba Be National Park is listed in the Ramsar Convention of wetlands and is the renowned and popular tourist site in Bac Kan. Visiting Ba Be, travelers will be impressed by its bio-diversity in the 10,000 ha park, which is home to more than 1,268 species of flora and fauna. In 2004, the site of Ba Be was acknowledged as an ASEAN Heritage Park.
