“Green buses” firstly appears in Hoi An ancient town
This is the first time Hoi An has had a public route in the ancient town. The bus route is scheduled to pass through some major tourist attractions, including
Tra Que vegetable village, An Bang Beach,
Cua Dai beach and 07 schools in this town; and will operate on compressed natural gas. The
“green buses” project is implemented by the authorities of
Hoi An as well as sponsored by the Japan Global Environmental Fund.
![]() Sunny day in Hoi An ancient town People can see the bus route here: Cua Dai Beach - Tran Hung Dao St. - Hai Ba Trung St. - Lac Long Quan St. - Cua Dai Beach. Accordingly, the bus will stop in 10 places like Cua Dai Beach, Ginger Spa, Son Pho Park, Hoi An Hotel, White Lanterns restaurant, Le Dinh Tham intersection, Tra Que Vegetable Village, An Bang Beach, Agribank Resort and Volcano Club. The bus route will first run 53 trips on a trial basis, from 8am to 9pm. traveling on the green buses on its trial days; passengers don’t need to pay for any fee. Furthermore, passengers are highly encouraged to give feedbacks and opinion on the bus service on these days. For over 10 years, Hanoi has built the streets for both pedestrians and non-motor vehicles in some certain of hours during the day. Particularly, Hoi An is the only city in Vietnam setting up the “smokeless day” event in every September. Moreover, locals people in Hoi An has been encouraged to go to work by bicycle in order to restrict the use of motorcycles and automobiles. |
