Halong Bay amongst Top 20 geological wonders worldwide
Situated in the Northern coastal province of
Quang Ninh, a World’s natural heritage of
Ha Long Bay has been praised in the 20 geological wonders of the world, according to the travel guide website Rough Guides.
Spanning over 1,553km2 and comprising 1,969 islands of various shapes and sizes, Halong Bay took great pride to be twice acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and 2000. Particularly in 2011, Ha Long Bay outranked 261 world’s landscapes and was voted as one of the seven new natural wonders of the world.
