Hoi An celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival 2014
On the occasion of
celebrating the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival 2014, the
Hoi An ancient town is scheduled to hold numerous activities, including sport competitions together with musical performances so as to promote the heritage site’s cultural and historical value for every traveler.
![]() Lanterns in Hoi An ancient town The cultural festival starts on September 6th with a traditional Lion Dance competition at Hoai River Square and a showcase of calligraphy and ancient writing. Hoi An’s Centre for Culture and Sports is in charge to host the event. Furthermore, each ward and commune in Hoi An will organize their own recreational program for young children to celebrate one of the biggest festival in a year. Particularly, the “Hoi An legendary night” is considered as the highlight of the Mid-Autumn Festival with a lantern parade and lion dance performances through the town’s ancient streets. The Mid-Autumn Festival 2014 in Hoi An lasts for 3 weekend days, from September 6th to September 8th. |
