Hoi An gains 2013 Asian townscape awards

According to the United Nations Human Settlements Programme,
Hoi An Ancient Town has received an award of the 2013 Asian Townscape. The award ceremony is planned to take place in Japan in November 20 to praise significant efforts made by Asian cities for the improvement, revitalisation and creation of a beautiful and harmonious townscape that is safe, sustainable and with respect to history and local culture. Hoi An Ancient Town was recognized as
the 2nd best city for tourists in Asia after Kyoto (Japan) by the Conde Nast Traveller (the world’s premier travel magazine).
Also, to honour the ancient town, the US online news site Huffington Post called it a hidden gem in Vietnam and ranked it as one of seven must-visit destinations in Vietnam.
