Hue penetrates in spiritual tourism

Among the few localities in the Central Vietnam, Hue possesses great potential develop spiritual tourism, which can help to improve the spiritual and cultural lives of people.

Hue is said to be home to over 55,000 Buddhist followers along with more than 100 pagodas, and Buddha worship places, the precious historical and artistic artefacts of which are well-preserved.

Organized twice a year, the Hon Chen temple festival welcomes tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country. Likewise, the Huyen Tran Temple festival, which worships the princess who expanded the border of Vietnam 700 years ago, annually attracts thousands of visitors.

Thanks to the national policies of religion and belief, the potential in this tourism will play an important part to develop tourism industry in a sustainable manner.

According to the Thua Thien Hue Province, the province welcomes million arrivals, including 784,000 foreign tourists  from the

 
January to October in the year of 2013. It is expected to raise the number of visitors to 3 million by the end of this year.

Also, the revenue tourism services for 2013 are eager to reach 50 percent of provincial Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
