Lao Cai province attracts many of visitors

According to the local Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, it’s estimated that in the 1st quarter of 2014, the Northern mountainous locality of Lao Cai welcomed 397,410 visitors, 191,602 of which are foreign ones, up 25 per cent year-on-year.

Located around 300km far from Hanoi capital, Sapa is well-known for plenty of scenic sites including the charming town of Sapa and the Bac Ha ethnic market with unique culture. Both of the two sites allure every visitor for its beautiful mountains, caves, forests, terrace fields, ethnic people's markets, and historical sites along with many traditional ethnic cultures.

Come to the province of Lao Cai, visitors have chance to talk and meet the ethnic peoples of H’mong, Dzao, … as well as to explore and experience their culture, customs and local’s life as the province is home to 27 ethnic groups.  

The famous travel guide magazine Lonely Planet recently praised Sapa as one of the best walking sites all over the world; whereas, the US's Travel & Leisure magazine recognized Sa Pa's terraced rice fields as one of the seven most magnificent in the world.

Particular, coming to Sapa this April, visitors will join the Sa Pa Tourism Week 2014 which is scheduled to hold from April 29th and May 4th, featuring lots of activities including traditional music and dance and ethnic folk games.

Lao Cai is expected to attract 1.5 million tourists this year compared to more than 1.2 million last year thanks to the opening of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Highway in June 2014.
