Tourists flock to Phu Quoc Island
During the first half of the year, a popular tourist hub of
Phu Quoc Island (located in the southern province of Kien Giang) has welcomed 268,000 holiday makers, including 72,620 foreign tourists, marking a year-on-year rise of 26 and 24.8 percent respectively. The figures are forecasted to continue going upwardly in the 2nd half of the year.
A beach holiday in Phu Quoc offered tourists chance to visit the 10,000-hectare Phu Quoc National Park, which is covered with lush green foliage and tropical flowers. It is one of the most well-known scenic spots for most of vacationers. The national park is said to be home to 929 plants, 42 of which are listed in the Vietnamese and World Red Books of endangered flora species. ![]() Relaxing in a picturesque waterfall in Phu Quoc National Park Furthermore, tourists to Phu Quoc Island cannot miss visiting Phu Quoc Prison, where nearly 40,000 revolutionaries were detained between 1967 and 1973.
