Trang An Complex acknowledged as UNESCO’s World Heritage Site
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that the Vietnam’s
Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex (belonging to
Ninh Binh Province) has recently been
recognized as a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site at the 38th meeting of the UNESCO Heritage Committee taking place in Doha (Qatar) on June 23rd.
At the meeting, the Deputy Minister of MoST Dang Thi Bich Lien expressed her thanks to UNESCO for the honor and voiced Vietnam’s commitment to seriously adhere to the World Heritage Convention in preserving globally recognized heritage examples in Vietnam. ![]() Picturesque Trang An Complex in Ninh Binh Province Covering the total area of 10,000 ha, an inland Halong Bay of Trang An consists of three areas: Trang An – Tam Coc – Bich Dong ecological site, Hoa Lu Imperial Capital and Hoa Lu Primitive Forests. Blessed with karts topography such as Limestone Mountains, caves and lakes, the Trang An is considered as home to more than 800 species of fauna and flora, including those listed in Vietnam’s Red Data Book. Trang An is an ideal place for a short trip from Hanoi. |
