Vietnamese travelers are exempted from Myanmar visa

The Vietnamese Government has signed an agreement with the Myanmar Government to waive the visa requirement for both Vietnam and Myanmar passport holders for any trips of less than 14 days.

Each traveller must have a passport which is valid for at least six months. The visa exemption agreement was effective on 26th October.

In the past, a Vietnamese passport holder has to pay USD20 for each tourist visa to Myanmar. However, Myanmar travellers were charged USD55 for a visa to Vietnam. Therefore, the
Vietnam visa exemption policy is expected to increase the number of Myanmar travellers to visit the small but beautiful country.

Up to now, Vietnamese tourists can travel to nine ASEAN countries without visas. It’s very convenient for private travel as well as operating ASEAN countries tours from Vietnam.
