Hoi An welcomes the 6 millionth-foreign tourist
Hoi An has recently greeted the 6 millionth-foreign tourist to the ancient town at the Japanese Bridge on February 28th, 2014. On the occasion of celebrating the arrival of the 6 millionth-tourist in February, the German tourist group will be offered free tickets as a gift on their
holidays in Vietnam.
![]() Hoi An Ancient Town sparkling at night The 6 millionth-tourist visiting Hoi An Ancient Town was Erika Wilskie, a 85-year-old German tourist. Wilskie also received gifts from the municipal People’s Committee. Wilskie said that she was happy for being the 6 millionth-tourist to visit the ancient streets in Hoi An. Though she had been retired for years and visited many destinations all over the world, this was the first time she traveled to Hoi An, Vietnam. Additionally, she praised Hoi An as the best visitor site because friendly that tourists can enjoy the peaceful town of Hoi An and its local people. Significantly, Hoi An had been successful in launching a variety of community tourism activities including Hoi An farming tours, fishing tours, boat rides and biking tours as well as other community festivals, sites and art exhibits like the silk village, lantern festival and pottery display. ![]() Hoi An develops community tourism activities Quang Nam is the only Vietnam’s destination which owns two UNESCO-recognized world heritage sites: the ancient town of Hoi An and the My Son Sanctuary, along with the World Biosphere Reserve of the Cham Islands.
